Color in the Gorge
Autumn color along the Little River Gorge Road in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Little River Gorge Road is a section of the highway that winds generally east and west within the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
The eastern end is referred to as Cades Cove Road or Laurel Creek Road and extends from Cades Cove to Highway 337 coming in from Townsend, Tennessee.
It then becomes Little River Gorge Road and follows the Little River through the park with numerous pullouts and beautiful views of the Little River.
At Elkmont Road, the name changes again to Fighting Creek Gap Road, and climbs over a ridge through the park before descending down and meeting US 441 at the Sugarland Visitor Center. (0.6 sec at f/8.0, ISO 100)
