Mantanzas inlet is a channel of water separating two islands from the mainland of Florida and the Atlantic Ocean. It is approximatley 14 miles long and connects the southern end of the Mantanzas River with the Atlantic Ocean. It is not protected by jetties, making it a rare inlet that is prone to shifting its position.
