Timbered Island Sunrise
The wide valley east of the Teton Range in the park is known as Jackson Hole. Looking east inside the park, you are looking across this valley to the distant mountain range on the other side of the Snake River.
While a distinct valley, it is a relatively high one being 6800 ft. above sea level. Grand Teton, the highest mountain in the Teton Range, rises another 7000 ft. from the valley floor.
